Whether Trump shows up to the Sept. 10 debate with Vice President Kamala Harris may depend on whether or not his microphone is muted when he is not speaking.Kyle Mazza/ SOPA Images ZUMA
It appears that indeed the Trump crusade wants the former chairman to keep quiet.
That’s according to a story published by Politico this morning, which alleges that the Trump crusade is locked in a disagreement with the Harris crusade over microphone rules at the presidential debate on September 10, specifically over whether they should stay live throughout the debate. Politico reports that the Harris crusade wants the mics on, reportedly because they believe it'll give Trump a chance to embarrass himself; Trump’s platoon is reportedly pushing for muted mics, which they say were the terms they agreed to when the debate was listed with President Biden before he dropped out.
In a post on X, Brian Fallon, Harris Crusade's senior adviser on dispatches, encouraged Trump to "reject his instructors' attempts to subdue him through a silent microphone.
" Trump 10 September should acknowledge his commitment to debate VP Harris on ABC and reject attempts by his instructors to silence him with a silent microphone.

It looks like Fallon may have been right latterly on Monday, Trump told an NBC News journalist who had asked him about reports of the microphone disagreement that it “ does n’t matter to me I’d rather have it presumably on. ”
" Would you want the microphones muted in the debate whenever you are not speaking?"
Donald Trump" We agreed to the same rules. I do not know, does not count to me.
Always suspected it was commodity his staff wanted, not him tête-à-tête, ” Fallon posted on X over a videotape of the exchange. “ With this resolved, everything is now set for Sept 10th. ”
Spokespeople for the Trump crusade and ABC News did n't incontinently respond to requests for comment. Jason Miller, elderly counsel for Trump, contended to Politico that the Harris crusade was “ looking for a way to get out of any debate with President Trump, ” and claimed the Harris crusade wanted both campaigners to be seated with access to notes during the debate which Fallon denied.
But it seems that Trump is the seeker hoping to avoid a debate. In a verity Social diatribe Sunday night, Trump contended, without substantiation, that ABC was prejudiced and questioned whether he'd take part in the debate, though he did n't mention anything about the microphone contestation.
